Look for a little white button on the mobo, that should reset the smc. Plug in boot up and you should be on your way. Well, I did plug both drives into my iMac and got the same error message. The drives also do not show up when plugged into the iMac. Sadly a lot of computers use barely adequet power suppiles. It is recommended not to connect use a hub with external drives.
Mac USB Device Drawing Too Much Power
I'd really love to avoid buying new equipment when I already have instruments in good physical condition. It'll be much cheaper to fix these myself. I'd like some second opinions! Has anyone dealt with this before? Do you think that replacing the USB port could solve this problem? Is this problem related to something else? Let me know! Thanks in advance!
